The CX-1010 follows the signal from the lead encoder that is mounted on the web before the dancer, and drives the center wind motor to a speed that gets the encoder mounted on the web after the dancer, to the correct speed as required by the setpoint. As the diameter increases the CX-1010 senses that the feedback frequency has increased and perceives that the motor is going too fast, and slows it down. The analog system from the dancer therefore has very little authority over the system and is only there to make minor adjustments to maintain precise tension and dancer position.
