ML-Trim Control

Precision Speed and Ratio Control

The ML-Trim control provides precision speed control to standalone (Master) or multi-motor (Follower) motion control applications. Using advanced digital feedback techniques, the ML-Trim in Master mode can increase speed precision to within 0.01% of set speed when interfaced to AC or DC type drives. When configured as a Follower in multi-motor systems, the ML-Trim provides speed ratio setpoint entry and control to within four digits of resolution. Embedded scaling algorithms permit setpoint (set speed) entry and tach monitoring in engineering units specific to your application.

  • Isolated Analog Interface to any AC or DC Drive.
  • Isolated Frequency and Digital I/O Inputs.
  • Pre-Programmed... no code to write.
  • Operator Interface for Setup & Monitoring.
  • Speed (Master) or Speed Ratio (Follower) Control.

The ML-Trim control is housed in a ¼ DIN vertical instrument enclosure with embedded operator interface. The integrated display and keypad panel gains access to numerous control and monitor parameters. Individual application requirements are met by simply accessing the relevant code parameter and then entering the appropriate numerical value. Because the ML-Trim control is pre-programmed, applications can be commissioned in a matter of minutes once the control has been installed. A full compliment of monitor parameters are available to verify operation and assist with diagnostics.

The ML-Trim control has a serial port for RS485 communication. ContrexHost software, when installed on a Windows PC or laptop, allows you to initiate commands, change parameters, load/save setup values, and monitor more than 50 values on one or up to 32 channels of ML-Series controls.

Features:
Pre-programmed control algorithms for Master and Follower control.
Up to two Master and two Follower preset setpoints with on-the-fly digital input reconfiguration.
The precision lead and feedback frequency inputs utilize either open-collector encoder or proximity sensors.
Two programmable digital outputs are provided for drive control and alarm functions.
